My Wannabe Gadget

I have been an ardent Nokia fan for years and still use one. It had certainly helped me to connect with the world pretty easily and with great mobility. However after 3 years my mobile did start to hang up now and then. Recognizing its service over the course and also with an indent towards a newer piece I started my search. It was here that I found a new breed of Sony Ericsson mobiles. Xperia X1 is touted to be the next biz thing.

Xperia X1 is a mobile which has an arc slider. This impressed to some extent as this is the first time that a mobile has come up with an experimental slider which makes it very easy to handle and navigate. I say navigate as, through sliding one gets to a QWERTY key board which can be used to cover all the functions. To top this it also has a “finger touch” screen panel and can accommodate up to 9 panels at the same time. Isn’t it fabulous? Well this does excite me as it is providing best of the PDA and B Fone features.

A mobile phone would be expected to provide a great display. Well this phone has a 3 inch wide WVGA display screen and projects pictures in DVD quality. In short a 65,536 color TFT display is what we get to view our multi media, on the move. It also has optical joystick and 4-way key for easy navigations.

Add to this a beautiful auto focus 3.2 mega pixel camera for taking great clarity pictures and video. Xperia X1 is pre loaded with Windows Mobile Operating System 6.1, added with Outlook Mobile and Office mobile packages. To better this, it also contains a Handwriting Recognition software and aGPS which helps in knowing the routes in pre selected cities. The music system is being sung to be a surprise package. And the normal stuffs like, Bluetooth™ stereo (A2DP), Media player, Music tones, 3D games and FM radio are as well provided.

It contains an in built phone memory of 400 MB and microSD™ memory card support is as well provided. It comes in two color variants, Black and Silver. Video calling and Predictive text input features might excite more than one. Weighing 158 gms, it contains a Standard battery, Li-Po 1500 mAh (BST-41) and is expected to provide a decent enough talk time back up.

With all these features, and a few more customized ones, we have a great mobile in the offing. I am eagerly awaiting its release in 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year. Price tag is expected to be around 40 K INR. Though its huge money, this master piece is worth the price. What are you waiting, log into to
